How to land your first shift

Edited

Welcome to Qwick! We're happy to have you onboard with us. We know the importance of snagging your first shift and want to ensure your success. Please review the tips and tricks below to get you started!

Important: your location permissions need to be set to "always on" in the app. You will not be able to match with or confirm shifts without location permissions set to "always on."

  • Ensure your bio is filled out. A completed bio on your profile is required for any shifts matched through our algorithm.

  • Add all the hospitality experience you have. Be sure to list out the different positions you've worked before!

  • Be ready to confirm your matches quickly. When you get a notification for a new match, you'll need to confirm that you're available. Make sure you respond as soon as possible, as other professionals may also be offered the shift, and the first to confirm will get the shift. Don't forget to keep your notifications on!

    • Note: Matches will disappear if another professional confirms the shift before you do, but you may still see the match momentarily in your app. If you haven't refreshed your page, it may still show, but won't allow you to confirm. Please refresh your app if this occurs to see if the shift is still open.

  • Don't cancel your first shifts. While we understand life happens, cancelling confirmed shifts dramatically impacts your ability to take shifts on the Qwick platform, especially cancellations within 24 hours of the start time. If you absolutely have to cancel for any reason, please cancel in your app and then connect with Qwick support. Please review more on cancellations here.

Once you land those first couple of shifts, be sure to bring your most professional self and be ready to wow them! Businesses love familiar faces and are more likely to request back those who work hard, show up in proper attire, and arrive on time. This will help ensure a 5-star rating, opening up even more match opportunities for you.
