Dismissing a Professional from a Shift

Edited

Quick Summary

Use Dismiss Pro when you need to remove a Professional from a shift or document why they were unable to complete it.

During the dismissal process, you'll be asked to:

  • Select the dismissal reason that best matches the situation.

  • Add notes explaining what happened.

  • Optionally block the Professional from future shifts.

The dismissal reason you choose determines how the shift is handled and whether attendance penalties or compensation may apply.

Which dismissal reason should I choose?

Scheduling or Staffing Changes

Select this option when the dismissal is due to a business-related staffing change rather than something the Professional did.

Examples include:

  • Shift no longer needed

  • Overstaffing

  • Schedule changes

  • Reduced business volume

What happens:

  • The Professional is not dismissed for performance or attendance reasons.

  • Depending on the circumstances and timing of the dismissal, a 4-hour minimum payment may be owed in accordance with Qwick policies.

Pro Performance or Conduct Issues

Select this option when the dismissal is related to the Professional's actions or failure to meet shift expectations.

Examples include:

  • No-call, no-show

  • Excessive lateness

  • Dress code violations

  • Performance concerns

  • Conduct or policy violations

What happens:

  • The dismissal is reviewed based on the selected reason.

  • Attendance or account actions may be applied to the Professional when appropriate under Qwick policies.

External or Unforeseen Factors

Select this option when the dismissal is caused by circumstances outside the control of both the business and the Professional.

Examples include:

  • Emergency situations

  • Weather-related closures

  • Facility issues

  • Qwick Overfill

  • Other unexpected operational events

What happens:

  • No attendance penalties are applied to the Professional.

  • The dismissal is recorded for documentation purposes.
