Location permissions

Edited

Qwick uses your phone's location to power core parts of the app. Your location setting must be set to "Always" (shown as "Always Allow" on some phones) for the Qwick Pro app to work. The app will prompt you to turn this on when you set up your profile, and will remind you if it's ever switched off.

What Qwick uses your location for

  • Browsing shifts — see shifts near you and how far away each one is.

  • Applying for and confirming shifts — you won't be able to apply for or confirm a shift without location set to "Always."

  • Clocking in and out — you must be within 0.5 miles of the shift location to clock in.

  • During your shift — your location is shared with the business you're working for while the shift is active.

Qwick only uses your location for these shift-related purposes, and only shares it with the business you're working with for that shift. It is not sold or shared with anyone else. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Why "Always" and not "While Using the App"?

Confirming you're on-site and clocking in need to work even when the app isn't open in the foreground — for example, when your phone is in your pocket at the start of a shift. "While Using the App" isn't enough for these features to work reliably, which is why the setting has to be "Always."

How to turn on "Always" location

iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open your phone's Settings.

  2. Scroll down and tap Qwick.

  3. Tap Location.

  4. Select Always.

  5. Make sure Precise Location is turned on.

Android

  1. Open your phone's Settings.

  2. Tap Apps, then Qwick.

  3. Tap PermissionsLocation.

  4. Select Allow all the time.

  5. Make sure Use precise location is turned on.

Steps can vary slightly depending on your phone model and operating system version.

If location still isn't working

  • Confirm you've allowed precise (exact) location — not just approximate.

  • Close the Qwick app fully and reopen it.

  • Check that location services are turned on at the device level (not just for Qwick).

  • If you're trying to clock in, make sure you're within 0.5 miles of the shift location. See I'm Having Trouble Clocking In for more.
