Jobs - Worker FAQ
Everything you need to know about finding longer-term roles, applying, and getting hired through Qwick Jobs.
Getting started
What is the Jobs tab?
The Jobs tab is where you find longer-term opportunities — like permanent line cook, server, or FOH support roles — at businesses on Qwick. It’s different from your regular shift feed: instead of picking up a single shift, you’re applying for an ongoing position with a specific business.
How is Jobs different from Shifts?
Shifts are individual gigs you pick up and work — one day, one payout. Jobs are positions you apply for and get hired into, with an offer letter, a start date, and ongoing work with that business. You can keep picking up Shifts while you have a Job application in motion.
Where do I find the Jobs tab?
Tap the Jobs icon in the main navigation. If you don’t see it yet, your account hasn’t been opted in — reach out to support and we can let you know when it’s available.
Do I need to do anything special to use Jobs?
Your account has to be flagged for Jobs to see the tab and notification settings. Once you have access, your existing Qwick profile is what businesses use to evaluate you, so keep your positions, experience, and availability up to date.
Finding & browsing jobs
What information shows on each job card?
Each card displays the position (e.g., Line Cook), the business name, the hourly wage, the distance from you, the job status, and a timestamp telling you how recent the posting is or when you last interacted with it.
How do I sort jobs?
Tap the sort dropdown at the top of the Jobs feed to reorder results. You can choose what matters most — newest, highest pay, closest, and so on.
How do I filter jobs?
Tap the filter icon next to sort. You can filter by position, job type, experience level, and minimum hourly rate. The filter button shows a number badge so you always know how many filters are active.
Tip: hit “Reset” inside the filter sheet to clear everything and go back to default results.
What happens if my filters return no jobs?
You’ll see an empty state letting you know nothing matches right now. Try widening your filters — for example, lower the minimum hourly rate or remove an experience level — to see more options.
What does the “Working interview” tag mean?
It’s a paid shift that a business is offering to you as part of the hiring process. Think of it as an audition — you’ll work an actual shift, get paid for it, and the business will use it to decide whether to extend a full job offer. Working interview offers always appear at the top of your view, no matter how you’ve sorted.
What does “+ tips” mean on a card?
The base hourly rate shown is what you’re guaranteed. “+ tips” means this role is tipped on top of that — your take-home will typically be higher than the listed wage.
What’s a “pre-boost wage”?
If you ever see a pre-boost wage, that’s the original rate before the business added a wage boost. The bigger number is what you’ll actually be paid.
Applying to jobs
How do I apply for a job?
Tap a job card to open the detail view. Read through the description (tap “Read more” to expand the full posting), check the location, wage, and schedule, then tap the Qwick Apply button at the bottom of the screen to submit your application.
What is Qwick Apply?
Qwick Apply is one-tap application. You don’t fill out a cover letter or resume in the app — the business sees your Qwick profile, work history on the platform, and ratings. The cleaner and more complete your profile, the stronger your application.
What happens right after I apply?
The Qwick Apply button is replaced with a confirmation state so you know your application went through. The job also moves to your Applied tab so you can keep track of it.
Where do I see jobs I’ve already applied to?
Tap the Applied tab inside Jobs. Every job you’ve submitted an application to lives there, along with its current status.
Can I apply to more than one job at a time?
Yes. You can have multiple active applications in your Applied tab while you wait to hear back from each business.
Invites
What is the Invites tab?
The Invites tab is where businesses come to you. When a business reviews your profile and thinks you’d be a great fit, they can invite you to apply. You’ll see the invite in this tab with a brief note explaining why they reached out.
How will I know I’ve been invited?
You’ll get a push notification, plus a number badge on the Invites tab and a red dot on the main Jobs icon. Once you tap into the invite to see the detail view, the badge clears.
How do I respond to an invite?
Open the invite to see the job detail. From there you can apply (Qwick Apply, same as a regular job) or decline and remove it.
What happens if I decline an invite?
The invite disappears from your Invites tab and you’ll see a quick confirmation toast. Declining doesn’t hurt your standing with that business for future invites or postings.
Job offers
How will I know if I got an offer?
Job offers are sent as instant push notifications — you’ll get one every time, regardless of your other notification settings. You’ll also see a number badge on the Applied tab and a red dot on the main Jobs icon.
What does a job offer look like?
Offers come as a formal offer letter inside the app. It includes the position, the wage, the business name, and a deadline by which you need to respond. There’s an Accept offer button at the bottom.
Example: “Hi Jason — we’re pleased to offer you the position of Line Cook at Taverna. Wage: $24.00 per hour. To accept, please tap ‘Accept offer’ by December 20, 2025.”
How long do I have to respond?
Every offer letter has a response deadline set by the business. If you don’t respond by that date, the business assumes you’re no longer interested and the offer can be extended to another candidate.
What happens when I accept?
You’ll see an accepted confirmation in the offer letter. The business’s hiring team will reach out with next steps — onboarding, orientation, your first day, anything specific to their location.
What happens if I decline?
The offer is marked declined and the business is notified. The job moves out of your active applications. Declining one offer doesn’t affect your eligibility for other jobs on Qwick.
Is the offer contingent on anything?
Offers are typically contingent on completion of any required background checks and verification that you’re eligible to work. The offer letter will spell this out — read it before you accept.
What if the offer expires before I respond?
Expired and cancelled jobs are clearly labeled — the action button just takes you back to the open jobs feed. If you missed an offer you wanted, you can re-apply if the business reposts the position.
Why was a job marked “Expired or Cancelled”?
Either the business filled the role, removed the posting, or the response window passed. You’ll see a friendly “We’re sorry this gig is no longer available” message and a button to get back to current openings.
Working interviews
What exactly is a working interview?
A working interview is a paid shift that the business uses to evaluate you on the job. You’re working real hours, getting paid your shift wage, and showing the business what you bring — all before they decide whether to offer you the full job.
How is a working interview different from a regular shift?
Mechanically it behaves the same way — you accept it, show up, work, and get paid. The difference is context: it’s tied to a specific job you applied to, and your performance influences the hiring decision.
Why does the working interview appear at the top of my list?
Because it’s time-sensitive and tied to a hiring decision, working interview offers are always prioritized to the top of your view — regardless of your sort order — so you don’t miss them.
Where do I see the details of a working interview?
Tap the working interview card to open the shift detail view, just like any other shift. You’ll see the date, time, location, and the business — plus the “Working interview” tag so you know it’s connected to your application.
Notifications & alerts
What kinds of notifications will I get about jobs?
Three types: new jobs that match your profile, invites from businesses, and job offers. Each one has its own frequency setting (except offers — those are always instant).
How often will I hear about new jobs?
By default, you’ll get a daily notification rounding up new matching jobs. You can change this to a different frequency from your notification settings if you’d rather hear less or more often.
Can I change how often I get notifications?
Yes. Go to your notification settings — there’s a Jobs section if your account has Jobs access. From there you can adjust New jobs frequency, Shift matches frequency, and your push notification toggle. Job offers always come as instant notifications and can’t be silenced.
What’s the red dot on the Jobs icon?
It means there’s something waiting on you — either a new invite in your Invites tab or a pending offer in your Applied tab. Take the action and the dot clears automatically.
What’s the number badge on the Applied tab?
It counts pending job offers — the things you need to either accept or decline. Once you’ve responded to the offer, the count goes down or the badge disappears entirely.
What’s the number badge on the Invites tab?
It shows how many new invites you have. Tap any invite card to view it — once you’ve opened the detail view, that one is no longer counted as new.
Status & lifecycle
What do the different job statuses mean?
Each job card carries a status that tells you where you stand: applied, working interview offered, offer received, accepted, declined, expired, or cancelled. The status updates as the business and you take action.
Can I withdraw an application?
If you applied to a job you no longer want, contact Qwick support and they can help. Declining an offer is built into the app — withdrawing an application before an offer is best handled through support so the business is notified properly.
What if I can’t make a working interview after I’ve accepted it?
Treat it like any other shift — let the business and Qwick know as soon as possible. Cancelling a working interview last-minute will likely affect your candidacy for the job, so only do it if absolutely necessary.
Pay & logistics
How do I get directions to a job?
Open the job detail view and tap “Open in Maps” next to the address. It’ll launch your default maps app with the destination pre-loaded.
Is the listed wage what I’ll actually earn?
Yes — the hourly rate on the job card is your guaranteed wage. If the role is tipped, you’ll see “+ tips,” which means your real take-home will typically be higher.
Are Jobs W-2 or 1099?
That depends on the specific role and how the business hires. The offer letter and any onboarding materials the business sends after you accept will spell out your employment type clearly. If it’s not clear, ask the business or Qwick support before your start date.
Where can I get more help?
Reach out to Qwick support from inside the app any time. For questions specific to a role, you can also contact the business directly once you’ve accepted an offer.
