California Alcohol Seller/Server Certification
How do I upload my California alcohol (RBS) certification?
California's RBS certification process is a little different from other states for on-premise alcohol seller/servers. You'll need to start by registering with the state to obtain a Server ID number before signing up for a training course. After completing an approved training course, return to the ABC RBS portal to pass the state exam and officially become certified. Since California does not issue downloadable certificates, you'll upload a screenshot directly from your ABC RBS portal dashboard in the Qwick app.
Your screenshot must clearly show:
Your full name
Your Server ID
Your Renewal Date
Your status as "Certified"
Shifts that involve handling or serving alcohol on-premise may require a seller/server certification, so it's always recommended to have yours uploaded and approved on your profile before picking up those shifts.
Why was my California alcohol certification rejected?
The two most common reasons are:
Course completion certificate uploaded instead of ABC portal screenshot: Your TIPS or other course certificate is not the same as your state certification. Log in to your CA RBS portal where you took the final exam and upload a screenshot showing your "Certified" status instead.
Full name not visible in the screenshot: Make sure your full name is visible along with your Server ID and Renewal Date before submitting. The welcome message at the top of your dashboard will work.
If you need help, reach out to Qwick support or visit the California ABC RBS portal for more information.
